HOCKEY WITH DARTMOUTH

In Stadium Rink at 3.--Comparison of Teams and League Standing.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the time of going to press it seemed probable that there would be no ice in the Stadium rink this afternoon, but if the weather permits, the University hockey team will meet Dartmouth at 3 o'clock in the third league game of the Harvard schedule. It has not yet been decided what will be done in case the game is postponed. Reserved seat tickets at $1 and admission tickets at 50 cents are on sale today at the Athletic Association office, at Leavitt and Peirce's and at the gate.

By winning today's game Dartmouth would get the championship for the year, as the has already won from three of the five teams in the league. If Harvard wins today the result of the championship may depend on the result of the Yale game next week, in which case'a defeat would cause a tie with Dartmouth, and possibly also with Yale, should she win from Princeton in New York tonight.

Dartmouth has the same team as last year with the exception of Stucklen at left center. Last year Harvard won in an easy game by 10 to 3, but Dartmouth's showing this year indicated that today's game will be closer.

Dartmouth has been beaten only twice this year, by Technology on December 30 when the score was 2 to 1, and by McGill on January 9 by the score of 7 to 2. In the other six games Dartmouth has won from Springfield Training School 5 to 2, from Yale 3 to 2, from Williams 3 to 2, from Columbia 4 to 2, from Princeton 3 to 2, and from Cornell 1 to 0.

Development of University Team.

Lack of ice before the Christmas vacation retarded the development of the University team, but with a week of practice in New York during the recess this poor start was overcome. Though beaten in two of the vacation games by the New York Athletic Club and by the Hockey Club of New York, Harvard won from the Wanderers, St. Nicholas, and the Crescents of the New York Amateur League. All of the eight games played since then have been victories, the dates and scores being as follows: January 7, Technology, 1 to 0; January 9, Columbia, 5 to 1; January 13, Williams, 10 to 2; January 16, Princeton, 3 to 2; January 25, St. Francis, 1 to 0; January 27, Laval, 3 to 0; January 30, Wanderers 8 to 2; February 8, Brae Burn, 3 to 0. The line-up: HARVARD.  DARTMOUTH. Gardner, l.e.  r.e., Marston Hicks, l.c.  r.c., Perry Morgan, r.c.  l.c., Stucklen Hornblower, r.e.  l.e., Doe Ford, c.p.  c.p., Leighton Willetts, P.  P., Pettingill Washburn, g.  g., Erhard

New Hockey Insignia.

The old form of the University hockey insignia, a red "H. H. T." on a black sweater, has been replaced by a more distinctive one. This consists of a red "H" with crossed hockey stick on a black sweater. In case the championship is won the team will be allowed a red "H" with crossed sticks on a white sweater.
