Fast Progress on Boston Arena

The first of the enormous steel roof trusses was swung into place yesterday at the new Boston Arena on St. Botolph street. The width from end to end of the trusses will be 140 feet, and the height from the apex to the surface of the ice will be 75 feet.

The progress of construction for a building of this size has been remarkable. It is expected that the ice surface will be ready for use by January 15, although some of the minor details will not be completed until a fortnight later.
