Forty songs were received for the football song competition held this fall. The songs were accepted in two classes, those having original words and music, and those with original words set to some familiar time. Five of the first class and three of the second were chosen by the Harvard Song Committee for further trial before the members of the University at mass meetings. These are: "Harvard Wins Today" by "Roland Franklin": "Victory Today" by Rumpel Stilskin": "Harvard's Triumph March" by Herman Hoffnungsvolle"; "Harvadiana" by "Aucassi" and "Nicolete"; "Harvard's Jubilee March." words by "Cy Young," music by "Hans Wagner"; "Smashing Through Eli," to the tune of "Marching Through Georgia," by "Touchdown"; "Victory" to the tune of "Stars and Stripes Forever," by "Sophomore"; "Touchdown," to the tune of "Rebecca" by "Hopeful." The real names of the successful contestants will not be announced until the selection of the songs is decided.
