The first baseball practice of the University baseball squad was held on the first team diamond yesterday afternoon with 40 men reporting. Owing to the coolness of the weather, however, it has been decided to discontinue practice until further notice. All those who secured lockers for fall practice may have their money refunded by sending their names to P. Wyman, 28 Plympton street.
In the practice yesterday two teams were formed and a six-inning game was played, which team B won by the score of 1 to 0.     The competition for second assistant manager of the University baseball team, open to Sophomores, begins today.  All wishing to try report at 28 Plympton street tonight at 7.30 o'clock.
