Cross-Country Trials Yesterday

The time trial for the cross-country squad over the Chestnut Hill course yesterday afternoon, was won by P. C. Heald '11, E. M. Viets '11 and H. Y. Masten '10 finished second and third respectively. The trial was run twice around the course, a distance of six miles, and the time was fair. P. R. Withington '12 was leading and running well, when he lost his way.

H. Jaques, Jr., '11 has been appointed captain of the team. As he will not be able to run, he will have charge of the team and E. M. Viets '11 has been selected as acting-captain.

The work for the squad for the coming week will probably be trials at Chestnut Hill on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Light running at Soldiers Field and a long walk will be the program for Tuesday and Thursday. Captain C. C. Little '10 of the track team will supervise the work.
