THE GRADUATE SCHOOL'S DEAN.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The death of the late Dean Wright left vacant the position of Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, an office of great responsibility in directing the affairs and building up the power and influence of one of the most important and generously endowed schools of the University. To this office the authorities have appointed Professor Haskins who during a comparatively brief connection with the University has assumed a position of leadership among his colleagues. When he came to Harvard in 1902, it was considered fortunate for the University to add to its list of teachers a man of such scholarly attainment and eminence in his chosen subject of history. As chairman of the Department of History and Political Science he has proven his ability in organization and the Graduate School should thrive under his direction.
