In the international tennis championship matches played at the Longwood Cricket Club B. C. Wright '03 defeated J. G. Parke, the Irish champion, but was himself beaten by M. J. G. Ritchie, the Olympic winner.

N. W. Niles '09 won the tournament at Niagara-on-the-Lake, August 30, by defeating W. F. Johnson 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 8-6; and then won the challenge round by defeating I. C. Wright 1-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4. Niles then took part in the Pacific Coast championships at Del Monte, California, but was defeated in the third round by M. Long.

H. Ward '00 with R. D. Little won the doubles championship at Seabright, N. J., on August 12 by defeating W. A. Larned and R. D. Wrenn by the score of 6-4, 6-4, 12-10. R. LeRoy '88 won his second leg on the George DeCamp Cup at Cincinnati, on September 7, after defeating "Nat" Emerson 6-0, 7-5, 6-4. J. Reynolds '07 was defeated by J. M. Morse '07 in the final round of the Ekwanok Club tournament.
