In the second inning there were two men on bases and no one out, yet no runs were scored. Currier attempted to steal second while Lanigan occupied the base. The result was that Lanigan was run down and Currier was chased back to first. In the third innings with one man out Leonard was hit in the leg and Pounds ran for him. McCall knocked a poply to the third baseman and failed to run it out. The ball was dropped and Pounds, not seeing the error, returned to first, and was then put out. One Exeter man reached third in the third inning on Slater's high throw to first and a subsequent wild pitch, but he failed to score. Aronson scored Harvard's two runs in the second with men on second and third by a clean drive to right field
