The matches of the first round of the interclass tennis, which were played yesterday, resulted as follows:
1909: N. W. Niles defeated R. M. Gardiner, 6-0, 6-0. 1910: T. B. Townsend defeated M. A. Mack, 6-4, 6-3; E. G. Mears defeated C. H. Ernst, 7-5, 6-4; P. Large defeated S. Hall, 6-3, 6-1; J. L. Stoddard defeated R. E. Andrews, 7-5, 4-6, 9-7; H. Peters defeated C. A. Munn, by default; H. Fish defeated R. H. Smith, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; J. F. Day defeated W. S. Leeds, by default. 1911: H. C. Kittredge defeated G. D. Howle, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2; E. M. Ach defeated D. F. Cutler, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4; W. B. Fraser-Campbell defeated E. W. Ellis, 7-5, 6-4.
The following matches of the first round will be played either this morning or this afternoon: 1909: O. W. Knauth vs. H. L. R. Buffington; W. M. Morrih vs. R. M. Field. 1910: T. B. Townsend vs. E. G. Mears: W. S. Milius vs. D. V. Leland: H. B. Richardson vs. S. C. Adams; J. F. Day vs. E. L. Beard. 1911. H. Nickerson vs. F. W. Paul; W. A. Lawrence vs. F. F. A. Pearson; A. Sweetser vs. W. C. Hodgdon; J. C. Johnson vs. R. Crosbie.
All men who are entered in the tournament and who have not paid their entrance fee, will be considered out and their matches forfeited if they do not pay at once. Trials for the University tennis team have been postponed until Monday.
