The record-breaking number of entries for the Leiter Cup baseball series is an emphatic comment on the attitude of the Athletic Committee taken this year in regard to developing Soldiers Field. The Committee has recognized that even by working as fast as possible in laying out fields, it cannot keep up with the increasing demand occasioned by so called scrub sports.
It is gratifying to see with what marked success the efforts made this year to encourage more general participation in athletics have met and there can be no doubt as to the place that these informal contests have among us. The CRIMSON hopes that lack of playing room will never again make if necessary to omit the baseball series.
