Nearly 100 men competed in the annual field-day sports, which were held in the Stadium yesterday afternoon. Although no records were broken, several of the events were run off in creditable time.
The best exhibition in the track events was made by G. W. Ryley '10, who easily won the 880-yard run in the good time of 2 minutes, 5 seconds. P. Little '09 won the mile run in 4 minutes, 46 2-5 seconds in a close race. The 100-yard dash went to R. I. Case '11 in 10 1-2 seconds, and A. D. Piper '09 won the 220-yard hurdles in 26 4-5 seconds. L. Watson '10 took the 220-yard dash in 23 seconds. The finish of the quarter-mile proved to be a good race. In the field events the results were not as good as could be expected.
As a result of the creditable performances in the games yesterday the following men have been taken to the Freshman training table: R. I. Case, E. R. Dick, Jr., F. F. Lincoln, G. R. Harding, C. O. Mueller, W. P. Rogers, W. D. Sohier, Jr.
