The first round of the University championship gold tournament which was played yesterday on the Oakley Country Club links resulted as follows:

B. W. Corkran has defeated A. F. Shaw '09, 3 up and 2 to play; T. M. Claffin sL. defeated W. Hickox, Jr., '03, 4 up and 3 to play; W. F. Morgan, Jr., '10 defeated P. M. Smith '11, 2 up and 1 to play; H. H. Wilder '09 defeated R. Harnblower '11, 5 up and 3 to play. The following matches in the semi-final round will be played today; Corkran vs. Claflin, Morgan vs. Wilder.

The results of the tournament for the consolation medal offered for the second eight to qualify were; E. W. Davis '10 defeated G. R. Minot '08, 5 up and 4 to play; J. C. Parrish 11, defeated M. Hollins '11, 3 up and 1 to play; A. W. Ingalls '09 defeated A. M. Crosby '11.5 up and 3 to play: M. MacArthur '10 defeated T. A. E. Harris '11.2 up and 1 to play. The semi-final matches today are Davis vs. Parrish, and Ingalls vs. MacArthur.
