First Day of Episcopal Conference

The annual conference of Episcopal churchmen in all the New England college will be held today and tomorrow in Phillips Brooks House at the invitation of the St. Paul's Society. The object of the conference is to discuss college church societies and their problems, and to strengthen their efficiency by an interchange of practical experience. There will be delegates from Yale, Technology, Princeton, Williams, and Dartmouth, and H. b. Barton '09 will be the official representative of the University.

The conference will be opened at 1 o'clock today in the Union by Mr. R. H. Gardiner '76, president of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, who will deliver the address of welcome, and preside at the meetings. During the afternoon the following conferences will be held: at 2.30, "The College Church Society of Brotherhood. Its purpose and its work," by H. B. Barton '09, A. A. Biddle, Yale; H. E. Weeks, Technology; J. N. Sayre, Princeton and Williams; C. S. Hale, Dartmouth; at 5, "Religious Life in School and College," Professor C. S. Baldwin of Yale and Rev, Hugh Mcllhaney of the University of Virginia. After the dinner in the Trophy Room of the Union, Rev. P. M. Rhinelander '91, of the Episcopal Theological School, will give a smoke talk on "The Bible in the Church."

In the evening the discussion will be devoted to the subject, "Social service," and conferences will be led by the following men: "Among the Privileged Classes," Rev. Sherard Billings '80, of Groton School; "Among the Unprivileged Classes," Rev. R. B. Ogilby ''02, of St. Stephens Church, Boston. At 9 o'clock Rev. S. S. Drury '01 will speak on "Preparation for the Corporate Communion."

Sunday morning Rev. Prescott Evarts '81 will administer Corporate Communlon at Christ Church, and at 10.30 morning prayer will be held by Rev. S. H. Bishop. After dinner in the Union, Rev. A. Mann, D.D., will give a smoke talk on "Churchmanship." At 4, Rev. W. L. Robbins, D.D., Dean of the General The logical School, will preach, and directly afterwards Mr. r. H. Gardiner '76 will give the farewell address in Brooks House.
