Doctor Hamilton Rice '98, of Boston, who has just returned from an eighteen months' trip to the headwaters of the Rio Negro, in Colombia, has presented the Peabody Museum a valuable collection of ethnological material which he obtained from the natives of the region around the upper Uaupes River. The collection includes dance costumes, feather headdresses, rattles, whistles, drums and other paraphernalia used in their dances and ceremonies, blow guns with poisoned arrows, ordinary bows and arrows, ceremonial staffs used for carrying the head of the enemy, and various household objects such as wooden seats, hammocks, baskets, etc.
