THE TRACK MEET.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

When Harvard defeated Dartmouth in the track meet last Saturday by only 19 points, while Yale showed unexpected strength in overwhelming Princeton, the daily press leaped into print with prophesies of an easy victory for Yale at the dual meet next Saturday. It was shown how, on paper, Yale already has possession of that nine-year cup.

As a matter of fact no one will know who is to have the honor of claiming the coveted trophy until the last event has been run off next Saturday afternoon. Yale has shown unexpected strength, but it does not follow that the performance can be repeated. Harvard's team is in excellent condition, and not a man is going into the meet who is not determined to make the fight of his life. By accurate computation the result is bound to be close and the slightest mishap may swing the victory.

The team is ready and determined. Let the University give them the support they deserve; let us disregard the pessimistic forecasts and place our reliance on Captain Dodge and his team.
