The race for second class crews yesterday over the mile and seven-eights course in the basin was won by the second Freshmen in 9 minutes, 37 1-2 seconds, which is good time for secondary races. The third Freshmen finished three lengths of open water behind the second; and the Seniors and Sophomores were third and fourth, respectively. The second Freshmen pulled away on the start, steadily increased their lead all the way up the course, and finished in good form, rowing easily.

The order of the winning crew was:

Stroke--Reece; 7, Jowett; 6, Smith; 5, Bean; 4, Ellis; 3, Oveson; 2, Peabody; bow, Shaw; cox., Everett.
