Trials for the University tennis team will begin on Jarvis Field this afternoon at 2.30. Of last year's team A. S. Dabney '09, N. W. Niles '09, E. P. Pearson '09 and C. C. Pell '08 will be able to play, G. P. Gardner, Jr., '10 and R. S. Lovering '08 will be unable to compete this year, since they are engaged in other sports, and there are but few promising candidates at present in sight. The order of trials this afternoon will be as follows: at 2.30, P. Grant '08 vs. O. W. Knauth '09; M. T. Ackerland '09 vs. F. Cutting '09; W. Hackett '09 vs. H. W. Powel '09; 3.30, G. C. Adams sC, vs. E. M. Pickman '08.
