The resignation of Dean Sabine from the Athletic Committee announced suddenly yesterday is a cause of equal regret both to the members of the Committee and to all others interested in the welfare of the athletic situation in this University.
As one of the three Faculty members of this body Dean Sabine entered upon his work from an entirely academic position and with but little assumed foundation upon which to act in this capacity of regulator of athletic sports. He has since become one of the most interested and valuable members, and to feel that pressure of other work was to such a degree in effect as to render him unable longer to serve the University in this way is to be doubly regretted. We feel certain that in expressing sincere gratitude for the time and care spent by Dean Sabine while a member of the Committee we shall be voicing the sentiments of the entire University.
