Two cuts in the University baseball squad were made last week. The squad is now composed of 64 men who will report for practice as before.
During the past week, more complex fielding has been introduced; in addition to the rudimentary work of fielding grounders, batting practice and base sliding have been made part of the daily routine of the squad. The regular box candidates have pitched to the batters, but only straight balls have been used. Today, the pitchers will begin to alternate with curves.
