MIDDLETOWN, CONN., March 6, 1908.--The University basketball team was defeated by Wesleyan last evening at Middletown by a score of 33 to 11 in a clean, fast game.

Harvard was weakened by the loss of Captain Brooks, who was suddenly taken ill. His place was filled by Almy. Wesleyan used splendid team-work and carried and passed accurately. At the end of the first half, Wesleyan was only a few points ahead, but at the beginning of the second, two fresh men were put in; Taylor at right forward, and Kidder at left guard, and the University team was scored on again and again.

For Harvard Allen and Currie played a good game, and for Wesleyan, Soule and White excelled. The spectacular shooting of Soule was a feature.
