There will be a fencing tournament this afternoon in the Hemenway Gymnasium at 3.30 o'clock for the purpose of choosing the University fencing team. The tournament is open to all members of the University and from the results will be picked the four men who are to represent the University this spring.

The first meet of the year will be with West Point at West Point on Saturday, and the triangular meet between Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale and Harvard will come on Saturday, March 14 in Boston. This is a preliminary competition of the Intercollegiate Fencing Association which comes on March 27 and 28 at the New York Athletic Club. The league was divided up geographically in order to save the expense to teams which would not figure in the finals. The winners of this triangular meet will therefore go to New York to compete in the final round.

G. L. Cutting '09 has been temporarily appointed captain of the fencing team to take the place of C. A. Bliss '08, resigned who received his degree at mid-years.
