Professor William Morris Davis '69 has been selected by the German government as Harvard Visiting Professor at the University of Berlin for the academic year 1908-09, his term probably falling in the second semester.

Professor Davis was graduated from the University in 1869, and was instructor in 1876 in the Geology department. He was appointed Professor of Physical Geography in 1890, and Sturgis-Hooper Professor of Geology in 1898. During the academic year 1906-07 he was acting Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

At a meeting of the British Association in Dublin next September, Professor Davis will deliver a lecture entitled "The Lessons of the Colorado Canon."
