In one of the closest games of the season the University team defeated Andover last night in the Hemenway Gymnasium by the score of 19 to 18. The game was cleanly contested on both sides and was full of exciting plays. Captain Brooks excelled for Harvard, and Finessey for Andover.
The University team took the lead at the outset of the game, scoring four points on two goals by Brooks. Swihart then scored for Andover, and Wyman for Harvard. Finessey scored twice, tying the score. Harvard again took the lead, and Andover again tied the score. The half closed with the score 14 to 11 in favor of Harvard.
The second half was not so keenly contested, the Andover team showing the effects of the hard playing of the first half. With the score 19 to 14 in favor of Harvard, Finessey scored two goals in rapid succession, but the game ended soon afterwards, with the University team one point in the lead.
