In the handicap competitions held in the baseball cage and on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon there were unusually good performances in the pole-vault and shot-put. In the former event L. C. Seaverns '10 was first at the height of 11 ft. 6 in., with a handicap of 6 inches; W. A. Dennis '11 was second at 11 ft. 4 in., handicap 10 inches; and J. L. Barr '10, scratch, was third with a vault of 11 ft. The shot-put was won by C. C. Little '10 scratch at 42 ft. 8 in. H. L. Goddard '10 was second with 42 ft. 4 in., handicap 2 ft. 6 in.; and J. G. B. Perkins '11 was third with 41 ft. 6 in., handicap 6 ft. 6 in.
E. H. Ruch '10 scratch won the hammer-throw with a throw of 128 ft. 8 in. B. D. Hodges '11 was second with 127 ft. 6 in., handicap 14 ft.; and W. M. Parker '12 was third with 125 ft., handicap 20 ft. In the high jump G. C. Adams '11 was first with a jump of 5 ft. 10 in., handicap 5 in. W. A. Dennis '11, C. O. Mueller '11, J. P. Long '11, C. C. Little '10 and J. L. Barr '10 tied for second at 5 ft. 8 in, handicaps 3 in. C. C. Little '10 scratch won the broad jump at 20 ft. 2 in. W. A. Dennis '11 was second with 19 ft. 11 in., handicap 12 in., and J. P. Long '11 scratch was third with 19 ft. 10 in. Medals were awarded the winners of each event.
