No Scrimmage in Practice Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The secret practice for the University football team yesterday afternoon was short and fast. In the signal practice the substitutes were lined up against the first team to work out the formations better, but there was no scrimmaging. All the men were out, including Browne, Corbett, and Hoar, who were laid off Wednesday and the team seemed in good shape. Kennard started the signal practice at fullback, Ver Wiebe substituting him later. Kennard is a fairly good punter, and on this account is at present first choice for his position. Ver Wiebe, however, carries the ball better, and forms good interference. Dunlap is doing good work at left guard, and shows improvement. Captain Burr was again on the side lines yesterday. Next week it is expected that he will begin exercising to get back into condition.
