Mr. J. Lincoln Steffens, author of "The Shame of the Cities," and "The Struggle for Self Government," will speak in the Living Room of the Union this evening at 8 o'clock, on the subject of "Politics, the Game." His lecture will show how the rules of "the game" are changing.

Mr. Steffens was graduated from the University of California in 1889. He then went to Europe and studied philosophy at the Universities of Berlin, Heidelberg, Leipzig, and Paris, and at the Sorbonne. On his return to America, he became a journalist and was at first reporter for the New York Evening Post, and later its assistant city editor. He has also been connected with the New York Commercial Advertiser, McClure's Magazine, and is now associate editor of the American Magazine. His work has been devoted chiefly to articles on our political situation, which have been contributed from time to time to magazines.
