The University hockey squad held regular practice yesterday afternoon on Hill's pond, Arlington. The ice surface was so uneven that no regular line-up was attempted, but all the men who reported were given an opportunity to practice with either the forwards or the defence. The work of the offence showed weakness in team play and inaccuracy in passing, but some of the work of the defence was very good.
There will be a meeting of all men interested in class hockey in the Assembly Room of the Union Monday evening at 7 o'clock to elect captains, arrange the schedule of interclass games and decide on hours for practice.
A training table for the University hockey team has been started at the Union with the following eight men: Captain C. C. Pell '08, manager C. W. Short, Jr., '08, T. Briggs '09, S. S. Ford '09, E. duP. Irving '09, M. L. Newhall '08, L. Rumsey '08 and J. P. Willetts '09. A training table for the Freshmen will be started as soon as a cut is made in the squad.
