8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Professor William H. Schofield '93, visiting professor at the University of Berlin during the first half-year, delivered the last of his course of fifty lectures there yesterday. At the conclusion of the lecture Dr. Brandie, director of the English seminary of the university, presented Professor Schofield with a set of finely bound books; and Professor Schofield in return presented a rare edition of Chaucer's works to the library of the English seminary. Dr. Brandie thanked Professor Schofield for his services in Germany, and asked him to convey greetings to Harvard University and to President Eliot. Privy Councillor Schmidt expressed the governmental appreciation of Professor Schofield's work. Professor Schofield's courses on old English literature have been greatly appreciated, for he has had an average attendance of 150 at each of his lectures.
Professor Schofield will sail for this country on January 29 and will probably be in Cambridge on February 5. During the second half-year he will give his regular courses in the University, Comparative Literature 6a and 20f, and Scandinavian 2.
