Second Class Crew Race Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The second class crews will race down-stream over the 1 and 7-8 miles course from Longwood bridge to the Union Boat Club, this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

The poor weather conditions this season having made it impossible to try out the crews satisfactorily, the outcome of the race is difficult to predict. The disbanding of the University third crew several weeks ago benefitted the Junior crew more than any other, and several men who otherwise would have been rowing in the first crew were dropped to the second. The Seniors have been rowing together in the same order for some time and have been showing steady improvement. Yesterday the first and second Sophomore crews rowed upstream together and in a fast stretch on the way back the second crew showed up well. The ability of the Freshman second eight is uncertain as three new men were put into the boat yesterday.

The orders of the crews will be:

Second Senior crew--Stroke, Foss; 7, Rivinius; 6, Lincoln; 5, Stackpole; 4, Middleton; 3, Wellington; 2, Brooks; bow, Iselin; cox., Ogilby.

Second Junior crew--Stroke, Biddle; 7, Swaim; 6, Short; 5, Phillips; 4, Marsh; 3, Parker; 2, Moot; bow, Mixter; cox., Grover.

Second Sophomore crew--Stroke, Denny; 7, Barrows; 6, Vaughn; 5, Richards; Crowell; 3, Gray; 2, Kelly; bow, Wooley; cox., Edwards.

Second Freshman crew--Stroke, Maxwell; 7, Beard; 6, Deming; 5, Macleod; 4, Pogel; 3, Forster; 2, Henderson; bow, Reed; cox., Adams.
