The University baseball team had a snappy practice yesterday on the regular diamond. The rest which the squad was given the day before seemed to put lots of life into the men and the warm weather, too, helped considerably to produce fast ball. Briggs was out for the first time since the Southern trip and took light work, but Leonard did not report, preferring to take no chances with his strained tendon. They will probably both be in the line-up on Saturday against Dartmouth.
Yesterday the practice consisted of batting and base-running. Pritchett was on third in place of Leonard and Coach Pieper covered Briggs' base. Greene, Bush and A. L. Castle to were used in the box for the batting practice. The men are meeting the ball squarely and with good direction and the bunting is generally good.
