The work of all crews during the past week has materially improved over that of the previous week. The University crew has undergone a number of changes, and yesterday Lunt was put in at 2 in place of Fish, who stroked the second eight. The boat now sets more evenly than during the first part of the week, but there is still a tendency to lag at the catch and to rush the slide. Fish showed up remarkably well at stroke in the second crew. The weak point seems to be at the full reach, where the men tend to work individually rather than together.
The orders:
University crew--Stroke, Morgan; 7, Severance; 6, R. Bacon; 5, Amberg; 4, Glass; 3, Tappan; 2, Lunt; bow, Faulkner; cox., Blagden.
Second crew--Stroke, Fish; 7, Wiggins; 6, Swain; 5, Burr; 4, G. Bacon; 3, Richards; 2, Farley; bow, Burchard; cox., Arnold.
Review of the Freshman Rowing.
The work of the Freshman crews has improved somewhat, but the first crew does not yet set on an even keel and the men are slow at the catch. The order has been kept, throughout, the same as last week. The second crew is far more ragged than the first, and at times rows poorly together.
The orders:
Freshman first crew--Stroke, Foster; 7, Coit; 6, Bacon; 5, Wyman; 4, Buxton; 3, Marvin; 2, Deming; bow, Beard; cox., King.
Freshman second crew--Stroke, McLeod; 7, Morgan; 6, Waid; 5, Sargent; 4, Fish; 3, Fowler; 2, Vogel; bow, Maxwell; cox., Nelson
