At a meeting of the captains and managers of the four major University teams, held yesterday afternoon, the following uniform plan of selecting assistant managers was adopted:
All competitions for assistant managerships shall be announced at least two weeks before the competitions begin, and a closing date shall be fixed at the start.
The competitions shall be conducted by the manager, who shall base his choice upon executive ability, earnestness, energy, and knowledge of the sport.
This shall be a qualifying round, and the three best men chosen by the manager shall be put up for election by a body of voters consisting of the active "H" men of the particular sport concerned, and the captains and managers of the other three major teams. In this election the qualifications of the men shall be carefully discussed by all present.
