Mr. Riis on "Battle With the Slums"

Mr. Jacob August Riis will give a lecture on "The Battle with the Slums" in the Living Room of the Union tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock.

Mr. Riis has for some time been active in the movement for small parks and play-grounds and in tenement house and school reforms. In 1897 he was the secretary of the New York Small Parks Commission and an executive officer of the Good Government Clubs in 1896 and 1897. He has written a number of books and magazine articles on these subjects, among the best known of which are, "How the Other Half Lives," "The Battle with the Slum," and "The Peril and the Preservation of the Home."

The lecture will be open only to members of the Union.
