The University fencing team was defeated by Tufts yesterday evening by the score of 7 to 2. Harvard was heavily handicapped by the loss of W. F. Low '07, who is ill with tonsilitis. His place was taken by H. M. Tillinghast '07. Ganteaume of Tufts made the best record in the meet by winning all three of his bouts. C. A. Bliss '08 did the best work for the University team, winning two bouts and losing one.
The summary: Todd, Tufts, defeated H. M. Tillinghast '07; Ganteaume, Tufts, defeated C. A. Bliss '08; Alvarenga, Tufts, defeated G. L. Cutting '09; Ganteaume, Tufts, defeated H. M.
