The Corporation has recently appointed Jeffrey Richardson Brackett '83 instructor in Charity, Public Aid, and Correction. Henry Pickering Bowditch '61 has been appointed George Higginson Professor of Physiology. Professor Bowditch has received degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and from 1883-93 was Dean of the Medical School.

At the last meeting of the Corporation the resignation of William James '69 as professor of Philosophy, was accepted to take effect September 1, 1907, and he was appointed Professor of Philosophy, Emeritus, from September 1, 1907. Professor James received the honorary degree of A.M. from Harvard in 1869, the degrees of Ph. et Litt.D. from the University of Padua, and of LL.D. from Princeton, Edinburgh, and Harvard.

Arthur Atwood Ballantine A.B. was appointed Assistant in Government.

At this meeting the following resignations were accepted: Frederick Shepard Converse, Assistant Professor of Music, and Joseph Benson Marvin, Jr., Austin Teaching Fellow in Mining and Metallurgy.

The George Foster Peabody Scholarship for the year 1906-07 has been awarded to Claude Wilson Bond sL.
