The Summer School of Theology will be held from July 2 to July 19 in Emerson Hall, the subject being "The Relation of the Ministry to Social Ethics."
President Eliot will give an introductory address and the following courses of lectures will be given:
Professor F. G. Peabody--six lectures on "The Approach to the Social Question."
Professor J. H. Ropes--three lectures on "The Sociological Uses of the New Testament."
Professor L. B. Paton of the Hartford Theological Seminary--three lectures on "The Sociological Teaching of the Old Testament."
Professor S. Mathews, of the University of Chicago--eight lectures on "The Social Content of the Christian Doctrine."
Professor F. W. Taussig--three lectures, "Social Stratification," "The Significance of the Leisure Class," and "Socialism and the Present Order."
Professor C. J. Bullock--three lectures on "The Ministry and the Labor Question."
Professor J. Royce--four lectures on "Loyalty as an Ethical Principle."
Professor J. B. Ames--two lectures on "Marriage and Divorce from the Lawyer's Point of View."
Professor J. Smith--two lectures on "The Legal Aspects of the Labor Question."
Mr. R. A. Woods, of Boston--four lectures on "Women and Children in Industrial Life."
Dr. J. R. Brackett--four lectures on "The Leading Principles of Scientific Charity."
Dr. D. C. Rogers--two lectures on "Punishment and Education as Methods of the Prevention of Crime."
