The second and last of the series of handicap field competitions, similar to those conducted last fall, was completed yesterday afternoon in the Cage.
The pole vault was won by S. C. Lawrence '10, handicap 1 ft., 3 in., height, 9 ft., 6 in.; second, M. C. Peirce'10, scratch, height, 9 ft., 6 in.; third, L. C. Seaverns '10, handicap, 5 in., height, 9 ft. Lawrence also won the series cup with 8 points. Seaverns was second with 6 and Peirce third with 4 points.
In the running high jump, first place was won by R. G. Harwood '09, handicap, 3 in., height, 5 ft., 6 1-4 in.; second, R. E. Somers '08, handicap, 1 in., height, 5 ft., 8 in.; third, G. W. Waller '07, handicap, 6 in., height, 5 ft., 2 3-4 in. The cup for the series was won by Harwood with 10 points. Somers and G. E. Roosevelt '09 tied for second place with 3 points each, and J. S. Lawton '10 won third place with 1 point.
The time for the track team candidates for the field events to report at the Gymnasium for practice under Assistant Coach Quinn, has been postponed until tomorrow, when they will report at the Gymnasium at their regular hours.
