Forty men spoke at the first trial to choose the team that will represent the University in the annual debate with Princeton, which was held in Dane Hall last night; and the following fifteen were retained: A. B. Church 1L., J. S. Davis '08, G. C. Good '09, D. Harris 1L., M. C. Leckner '07, E. R. Lewis '08, G. I. Lewis '08, L. W. Mack 1L., B. M. Nussbaum '08, J. W. Plaisted 2L., D. Rosenblum '08, F. Schenck '09, I. L. Sharfman '07, E. B. Stern '07, and J. R. Voigt 1L. The speaking was judged by Coach E. M. Rabenold 3L. and G. Bettman 3L., both former University debaters.
The men who were retained last night will deliver 10-minute speeches on either side of the question for the debate, at the second trial, which will be held in Dane Hall at 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening, when the six men who will constitute the first and second teams will be picked.
