At the baseball mass meeting held last evening in Lower Massachusetts over 100 candidates for the University and Freshman teams were present. Captain Dexter announced that regular practice for the University squad would begin Monday and Freshman practice one week later. He urged especially the importance of prompt attendance at practice, now as well as later in the season. Coach Pieper stated that the coaching this year would be directed to the further development of the Harvard system, and toward proficiency in intelligent baseball. He admitted that the shortness of the season and the necessity of reducing the squad to a working size made it difficult to give every man a fair trial, and asked that all complaints be made directly to the authorities. He further urged that individual spirit should be sacrificed to obtain harmony--the essential of a winning team--and that every one should go into the work with the best interest of the team in view.
