Hockey Practice at Artificial Pond

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University and Freshman hockey squads had their first practice on the ice yesterday afternoon on Artificial Pond. The area of strong ice was so small and the quality of the ice so poor that no scrimmage was attempted. All the men who reported, about 50 in number, were coached and given trials by Captain Pell, and small detachments of the offence were given their turn against the defense.

The rink in the Stadium has been completed, and if the ground is sufficiently hard, practice will be held there today.

The following Freshman candidates reported for the first time: L. E. Drew, F. L. Hunt, K. W. Hunter, W. M. Minot, L. J. Wyeth.
