Encouraging Basketball Practice

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The practice of the University basketball squad last night was decidedly encouraging. After preliminary work in shooting and passing, a game was played between two picked teams in which the first team had little difficulty in winning by a score of 38 to 9. The passing and covering of the first team were excellent, and its team play showed considerable advancement for so early in the season. Brooks and Currie played particularly well, the former throwing eight, and the latter four, of the nineteen baskets scored by the first team. During the first part of the practice Captain Broun wrenched his knee, but he will be able to play again within a day or two.

The line-up was as follows: UNIVERSITY.  SECOND. Currie, l.f.  r.f., Scribner, Mossman I. S. Broun, Scribner, r.f.  l.f., Sheehan, Rieth Browne, c.  c., H. C. Brown, Wyman Almy, l.g. r.g., S. Brown, Binda, Fisher Brooks, r.g.  l.g., Wyman, Binda
