Yale found considerable difficulty in defeating Washington and Jefferson College last Saturday and after having been played to a standstill in the first half succeeded in winning out in the second half, 11 to 0. As the field at New Haven was very slippery, straight football was necessary and no forward passes were successful. Coy and Wylie, two of the regular Yale backs were kept out of the game, as they are overtrained.
