1910 Football Team Defeated 6 to 0

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Sophomore football team was defeated 6 to 0 yesterday afternoon at Concord, Mass., by Middlesex School. Considering that this was the Sophomores first game, the team played very well. Middlesex found it impossible to gain a yard through the Sophomore line, and the only serious weakness displayed by the Harvard team was the poor defensive work of the ends.

Middlesex used the short forward pass and the onside kick to good advantage, and practically all their gains were made by these plays. The score was made by Trumbull who intercepted a forward pass on Middlesex's 40-yard line, and with a clear field before him carried the ball 70 yards for a touchdown. The second half was largely a punting duel between Paine and Hoffstodt, in which the latter out-kicked the former by a large margin.
