8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
A meeting of Freshmen interested in debating was held last night to organize the 1911 Debating Club. E. R. Lewis '08, president of the University Debating Council, acted as chairman, and brief addresses were made by M. C. Leckner '07, president of the Debating Council last year, and by A. H. Elder 1L., a member of the University team last year. The following temporary officers were elected: president, M. E. Peabody; vice-president, J. M. Sanderson; secretary, J. J. McGuire; treasurer, J. Kean.
Mr. Lewis outlined the plans for the year. The club is to be divided into two camps, much as last year, and teams selected from them will debate every week.
It is practically assured that the annual debate will be held during March, in Cambridge, and that it will be with the Yale Freshman team.
