Ellis Knowles, Yale '08, won the intercollegiate individual golf championship in the finals of the intercollegiate tournament on Saturday, by defeating R. Peters, Jr., of Princeton, 2 up and 1 to play in 36 holes. The play on Saturday was the best in the tournament, Knowles covering the course in 74 in the morning, and in 77 in the afternoon, while Peters' score was only one stroke more in each round.
In the semi-finals on Friday afternoon, W. F. Morgan, Jr., '10, of Harvard, was defeated by Peters of Princeton, 1 up (21 holes); and Lyon, of Yale, was defeated by Knowles, of Yale, 5 up and 4 to play.
