Glen Cove, Long Island, October 17, 1907.--In the qualifying round for the individual intercollegiate championship at the Nassau Country Club today four Harvard men qualified--T. Briggs '09 with 82, W. F. Morgan, Jr., '10 with 82, H. H. Wilder '09 with 79, and F. W. Kemble '08 with 85.
In the first round of match play, Howland of Yale defeated T. Briggs '09, 1 up in 19 holes; Peters of Princeton defeated Kirschler of Pennsylvania, 5 up and 4 to play; W. F. Morgan, Jr., '10 defeated West of Princeton, 2 up and 1 to play; Van Vleck of Yale defeated Van Dyke of Princeton, 6 up and 5 to play; Abbott of Yale defeated Merriman of Yale, 5 up and 4 to play; Knowles of Yale defeated F. W. Kemble '08, 5 up and 4 to play; Lyon of Yale defeated H. Wilder '09, 5 up and 4 to play; Partridge of Yale defeated McAdoo of Princeton, 3 up and 1 to play.
