The University management announces a series of handicap competitions in the five field events, this fall. There will be three contests in each event, and a cup will be awarded to the winner of the most points in the contests. First place will count five points, second three, and third one. Liberal handicaps will be given in all cases, and all field-event men are urged to come out. Freshmen, as well as members of the University squad are eligible.
The first of the series of shot putting and high jumping competitions will be held next Tuesday. Entries should be made with Coach Quinn, at the Locker Building. No names will be received later than Monday night.
The first contest in broad jumping and pole-vaulting will take place on Monday, October 21. Entries to be made with Coach Quinn on or before Saturday, October 19. The dates for the hammer throwing contest will be announced later.
