The catalogue of Yale University for the current academic year, recently issued, shows the total number of students in all departments of the university, exclusive of the summer schools and teachers' courses, to be 3247, an increase of 39 over last year. In the academic department there are 1351 students and in the Sheffield Scientific School, 895. Connecticut has the largest representation of the states with 1107 students, followed by New York with 639, Massachusetts 184, Pennsylvania 196, and Illinois 143. Nineteen foreign countries are represented by 88 students, Canada with 23, Japan with 22, and China with 10, having the largest representation. There are 442 members of the faculty this year, as compared with 416 last year.
