Dr. Wilfred T. Grenfell, C.M.G., will deliver an illustrated lecture on "Life in Labrador" in the Living Room of the Union next Tuesday evening at 7.30 o'clock.
Dr. Grenfell has made the welfare of Labrador and its inhabitants a life work. He has charge of four hospitals, and by means of his hospital ship and his dog-teams, he covers great distances in his tours among the sparse and needy population. Dr. Grenfell is a surgeon, a mariner, a magistrate, an agent of Lloyds in pursuing seamen who wreck their vessels for the insurance, a manager of a string of co-operative stores, and an active opponent of the fraud, the oppression, and the drink evil which finds peculiarly helpless victims among the fisher-folk.
The lecture will be open only to members of the Union.
