PENNSYLVANIA GAME TODAY

On Soldiers Field at 3.--Harvey to Play Centre Field.

This afternoon at 3 o'clock the University baseball team will play its second annual game with the University of Pennsylvania. Castle, whose good work for Harvard enabled the University team to defeat Pennsylvania 4 to 1 at Philadelphia on May 12, will pitch again this afternoon.

Since the first game with Harvard the Pennsylvania team has had an unsuccessful season. Columbia and Brown have been defeated by scores of 6 to 4, and 4 to 3, but Pennsylvania has lost twice to the strong Cornell nine by scores of 2 to 0 and to 1. Yale defeated Pennsylvania by the decisive score of 13 to 0, and at Providence on Monday Brown won from Pennsylvania, 5 to 2. The game with Exeter on Wednesday was cancelled.

Although these scores seem to favor the University team, which will have the further advantage of playing on the home diamond, the Pennsylvania team has played brilliantly at times, and the game today will probably be close. At Philadelphia last month it required ten innings to decide the game, Hay keeping the hits well scattered. Castle pitched well against Brown, however, and with good support, may be depended upon. In the field the team has lately shown consistent improvement.
